MedBridge Design Process
“Jacob was able to manage a quick paced team with high expectations gracefully…He has the impressive ability to handle high volumes of meetings and still create brilliant designs when needed. I always valued his design feedback and felt as though his critique was effective and beneficial. Jacob truly prioritizes each individuals skill set and puts in extra effort to make sure our design needs were met.”

Highlights
Design Manager and Lead Designer from Feb 2017 - Jan 2020
Processes, workflows, and systems I have developed for MedBridge have included improved graphics planning, training and on-boarding materials, and KPI goals and tracking.
During a process improvement initiative, the team saw an increase in output by 100% from Apr 2017 to Aug 2017.
I maintined a 0% attrition rate on the team for the entirety of my tenure as Design Manager and Lead Designer.
Motion Graphics Planning
Before
Planning and communication was virtually nonexistent, hard to read, and had zero quality checks embedded in the process, with no easy way to track which team member completed a task to create accountability.
After
Easier to use and follow format allowed for expedited project completion with fewer questions, higher accountability with recorded contributors, built-in team review processes, and consistency of product.
Training and Onboarding
When I joined the team, there was no on-boarding or training materials or processes in place. I built the training and on-boarding materials for my team from scratch and my method and outline has been taken and applied to multiple other teams.
KPI’s and Tracking
Rather than one opaque data point for team output, I created an public individualized tracker with team member performance and goals. This includes the capacity for quality audits and has helped identify pain points for output, identified when individuals require short-term extra support to prevent burnout, and provides an easy dashboard for company executives to check-in on the team as desired.

Style Guide
As the team has expand and visual language developed, the need for a style guide for Visual Design for those working in the Production department became necessary.
